Commercialized vice preys upon the vulnerable, destroys families, and extracts wealth from struggling communities. Center for Christian Virtue stands firmly against predatory industries, particularly state-sanctioned gambling and commercialized recreational marijuana. Government should never build revenue models on addiction.
Combating Obscenity
Founded originally in 1983 as an anti-obscenity organization, CCV successfully lobbied to ban the Playboy Channel on local cable and famously led the 1990 campaign against the Contemporary Arts Center of Cincinnati for exhibiting obscene photographs.
Opposing Commercialized Marijuana
CCV actively campaigned against the initiative that commercialized recreational marijuana in Ohio, warning of the societal harms of addiction and high-potency THC.
Fighting Predatory Gambling
Over several decades, CCV has been the leading voice opposing the expansion of state-sanctioned predatory casino gambling and sports betting, exposing how the industry profits off financial ruin.
